Jessica ~ and the vintage dress~

Seventeen year old beautiful Jessica was perfect for this dress and I also found a doll haha!. First we went to the park and then to the graveyard where she posed with the dress and doll. It was fun 😀

Brooke at the Round Barn

I always wanted to use this location but I was not sure how exactly to get inside there until I saw another photographer’s photo and asked her. I love having teen photographer friends from the area that know about cool locations :D. It was my first time there and since Brooke and I live close and it was perfect.

The Round Barn is historical in Santa Rosa ca: It was founded by Thomas Lake Harris around 1875. Built near the end of the 19th century, it was part of the Fountaingrove winery owned by Harris’s protege, Kanawe Nagasawa, who reportedly designed the structure.

I also experimented with the “Brenzier Method” for the first time, creating a panorama with 4 stitched photos.

Lots of walls with Kenna~

Kianna is a gorgeous 17 year old. She is full of energy and personality. We meet at downtown Santa Rosa ca. We crossed the street and there was this wall with cows- She told me she loved the cows so this wall was perfect. After this, we walked just across the street again, this time South. The next wall I wanted to photograph is a gorgeous wall painted by local artists.

..And these are the new walls by a local artist that are located near the Fairgrouds by Santa Rosa ave.

Mercedes’s props

Mercedes is a beautiful 17 year old Senior from Windsor High . Before the session, we did talk a few times and I asked her if she had any red and blue clothe items because I recently purchased a vintage typewriter and a vintage red case that I wanted to use. Mercedes’ mom helped us posing while I directed her towards the right background. The field this time was not wet and my shoes did not get as dirty and I was prepared wearing old Ugg boots.

Mary’s mustard field.

I have been looking for a location like this for a few days, and I found it on Sunday when I went for a drive with a friend to Sebastopol ca. I was looking for a field that did not have a fence and this was it!. I knew this was going to be the place where I was going to pose my next client. My photographer friends on line asked me where did I find something so cool. I tell told that the outsides of the city is covered with fields like this right, now but the challenge is to find a field that does not have a fence. It was raining the day before and the floor was so wet. Mary was going to wear her nice shoes but I told her to keep her Uggs on. I was actually fun to walk into this wet gorgeous field~ Anyways it is a gorgeous place I can’t wait to go back.

Karen: Class of 2012

It was my birthday when I received a very nice email “I’m a senior at Windsor High School. I was wondering if you could do my senior portraits, I’ve looked at some of your work, and absolutely love it!”. Her name is Karen and I met her and her mom here because I love this tree during the Fall. I believe this was my very last Senior Session that year. I photographed about 30 Seniors during 2011 yay.

The day I met this gorgeous red-haired 17 year old girl, she told me about a conversation she had with her boyfriend.
Michelle: I want this photographer I met on line to take my Senior photos because she is great.
Boyfriend: My mom’s cousin is a Senior photographer and she is really good, you should hire her.
Michelle: No thanks I want Laura Ruiz to take my photos.
Boyfriend: Laura Ruiz is my mom’s cousin! 😀
